JACKSON, Tenn — Mark Allen Klawitter has been charged with burglary from a motor vehicle after Jackson Police arrested him for allegedly breaking into a vehicle and stealing a Freon gas tank. Court documents show witnesses reported seeing Klawitter force open the door to an old school bus while on his phone. A witness claims she heard Klawitter telling whoever he was on the phone with what he was doing. Officers said Klawitter told them the owner of the vehicle gave him permission to go in the bus and get the Freon tank, however, the owner later told JPD he did not give said permission. Authorities valued the stolen property at $330 and the damage caused to the door of the vehicle at $400. Documents show restitution is being sought. Klawitter’s bond was set at $5,000.
