CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — A Henderson man is accused of taking money from a donation jar so he could pay for his cigarettes. Tuesday night at the Marathon gas station near Highway 45, city police say Richard Mathenia could be seen on surveillance video shaking out the jar and then using the money to buy a pack of Marlboro reds and play the store’s quarter machine. When stopped by responding officers, Mathenia had a dollar, a quarter and a nickel in his pocket. He will appear Thursday morning in general sessions court.
