GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — It will be a busy weekend for Gibson County volunteers as they work to make area homes fire safe. Officials with fire departments across the county plan to visit more than a thousand homes Saturday to provide smoke alarms for un-equipped homes. Since 2012, the department has given out more than 85,000 detectors for at-risk homes. The project aims to be the biggest canvass ever undertaken by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
