HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — A new, free after-school program gives kids a chance to learn about a number of subjects — but in a way you probably haven’t thought of. The After School-ology program put on by the Humboldt Library is for first through sixth graders. Kids will have a chance to learn about topics including “pirate-ology” and “dinosaur-ology.” Organizers say they hope it teaches children that learning can happen anywhere. “Learning doesn’t have to be just inside of school. It can be an every day, any minute, anywhere thing,” Humboldt Children’s Librarian Sarah Peden said. Next month is “monster-ology.” The free program meets at 3:30 p.m. the third Friday of every month.
