1,000 Acre Lake to bring jobs, money to Carroll County

CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. — More jobs are coming to Carroll County by way of the 1,000 Acre Recreational Lake. Within weeks, lake officials said the new marina will be ready to start housing boats in Huntingdon. City officials said they’re also putting in a fueling station that should help create 10 to 15 jobs, which will be part-time at the start. Huntingdon Mayor Dale Kelley said this is a big step for the lake and the county’s economic development. “This is an economic development project for Carroll County,” Kelley said. “The things that we have planned for the future are certainly going to bring a lot of tourism to this area, not only for Carroll County but for the surrounding areas as well.” Officials said the marina will be open in about two weeks and the fuel station will be ready for service in a month.
