JACKSON, Tenn. — Hub City residents were getting ready Tuesday for the next election by honoring National Voter Registration Day. Twenty-five Jackson residents showed up at the east Jackson Food Rite location so they could register to vote. From local elections to the looming race for president, Tuesday was the first step for many Jackson citizens hoping to make their voice heard. On top of the dozens who registered Tuesday, voting officials say several others took home packets so they could register sometime in the near future.
