Man charged with torturing, killing neighbor’s cat

DYERSBURG, Tenn. — A man is facing a charge of animal cruelty after allegedly torturing and killing his neighbor’s cat. Brian Flippin, 18, was arrested Saturday on a charge of aggravated animal cruelty, according to the Dyersburg Police Department. A woman reported to police that a witness had seen Flippin, her neighbor, kill her cat. Police talked to the witness who told them she had seen Flippin grab the cat by its back legs and swing it around, bashing its head into two different objects near his house, according to a report from the Dyersburg Police Department. Flippin then reportedly threw the cat back onto its owner’s property and under a truck parked in the driveway. Flippin was later arrested and issued a $3,000 bond.
