JACKSON, Tenn. — A man appeared Thursday in city court on accusations of breaking into a man’s car and stealing stereo equipment over money owed to him from a tattoo deal. Brandon Dobbins is charged with burglary of a motor vehicle after police recovered a stolen speaker box and speakers from his vehicle, according to an affidavit. Court papers say the victim had given Dobbins a tattoo in exchange for a Kenwood amplifier and $25. The victim told officers Dobbins had been harassing him for the cash. The victim told police someone had broken the driver’s side window out of his vehicle and stolen a speaker box with two 12-inch subwoofers and a 1,000-watt Kenwood amplifier. Police say the victim located Dobbins’ vehicle in front of his residence and saw a speaker box belonging to him in the back seat. Police had Dobbins’ car towed to the department’s impound lot where a search revealed two 12-inch Kenwood subwoofers and a speaker box belonging to the victim, according to the affidavit. Dobbins’ bond is set at $1,000.
