Local schools honored with National Healthy Schools Awards

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Two Jackson-Madison County schools are getting national recognition for their efforts to make the school day healthier. Beech Bluff and South Elementary schools each earned gold awards from the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. Officials say they were the only schools in Tennessee to receive gold awards. Eleven other Jackson-Madison County schools received silver or bronze National Healthy Schools Awards.
