TRENTON, Tenn. — Another YMCA has closed its doors leaving many members of the community stunned by the sudden closure. The Trenton branch of the YMCA closed earlier this year. Trenton Mayor Ricky Jackson says this closure is a tragic loss for the community. “We have people that use our Y from ages 2 to 95,” he said. Mayor Jackson says the closing took him and the rest of the Trenton community by surprise. YMCA member Marie Cox is afraid of the impact the closing might have on the community. “I’m really concerned about the impact it’s going to have because I myself do use the facilities weekly,” Cox said. “I’m there on a weekly basis. I go in at five in the morning, and I see so many of the community out there.” A town meeting about the YMCA closures is scheduled to take place Thursday evening. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News will have updates when available.
