JACKSON, Tenn. — Hub City residents curious to see why a certain Chicago team’s flag is flying in Jackson no longer have to wonder. The story starts with a simple bet. Mike Rohlwing, plant manager at Delta Faucet, bet Jackson Chamber CEO and president Kyle Spurgeon that the Chicago Cubs would win Wednesday night’s game, despite Spurgeon’s favor of the Cardinals. Because the Chicago Cubs took home the win, the MLB team’s colors are now flying above Spurgeon’s office. “It hurts a whole lot,” Spurgeon said. “But when you lose a bet you have to pay back, and this is something that makes Mike so happy because it’s something he’s never had the opportunity to do before.” The Chicago Cubs’ flag will proudly fly above the Jackson Chamber until the end of the MLB post-season.
