JACKSON, Tenn. — A man appeared in Jackson City Court Friday after authorities say he assaulted three officers as he tried to escape arrest and even went through the attic of a nearby apartment by tearing through the roof. Court documents show Joseph Miller punched an officer twice and pushed two others while they were trying to arrest him for an unrelated aggravated assault charge. Officers say when Miller ran, he tore through the roof of the nearby apartment trying to get away. Miller has been charged with three counts of assault on an officer, felony vandalism, evading arrest and resisting arrest. He is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
