Troopers investigate body found on I-40

NORTH JACKSON — Troopers shut down one westbound lane of Interstate 40 Wednesday morning as they investigated a body found on the roadway. The Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed they were investigating a body near the Campbell Street exit near mile marker 83. Investigators are saying the victim was hit a number of times by passing vehicles. They said they don’t yet know how the person died, and the investigation is ongoing.
