City takes over investigation of body found on I-40

JACKSON, Tenn. — Law enforcement officers are still working to identify a body found Wednesday along Interstate 40. The city has now taken over the investigation. The body was expected to be sent for an autopsy in an effort to identify the victim. Early on, troopers said they were looking at the possibility that the victim may have jumped or walked onto I-40. The death caused a westbound portion of the interstate near exit 83 to be shut down Wednesday for much of the day.
