JACKSON, Tenn. — Alexander Elementary School was transformed into a carnival Friday. But this was no ordinary carnival. It was a career carnival allowing students to dress up as their favorite career character. This was the 9th year for the career carnival at the school, and community members hosted games and activities in the gym. The Jackson Police Department also landed its helicopter at the school. “They can be whatever they want to be, and that’s what we want for them,” Principal Deborah Frey said. “That’s what we work for every day, and this gives them a window on the world of different kinds of opportunities that are available to them in their life.”
