Evergreen Club thanks sheriff’s dept. with 700 cookies

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Local law enforcement officers were honored Friday — one chocolate chip at a time. Fourteen ladies from the Evergreen Club baked, bought and brought around 700 cookies to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Friday morning to show their appreciation of the men and women in blue. Georgia Roth organized the special morning because she says the deputies do not get the appreciation they deserve. “I don’t know too many people who are brave enough to go out and lay their life on the line, so I have a great admiration for any of them. This is such a little bitty thing to do,” Roth said. Roth says they plan to also hold similar events for other law enforcement agencies in the area.
