Hunter Higdon signs with TTU

Hunter Higdon has been dreaming about playing Division I baseball since he was a little kid. The Jackson Christian senior’s aspirations came true on Tuesday afternoon as he signed with Tennessee Tech University. “It’s a very humbling experience to actually do what I want to do in my life,” Higdon said. “A lot of people have made sacrifices for me to be right here, and I love them.” Teammates, friends and family packed the school library for Higdon’s big day. His head coach Chuck Cooper shared his favorite story about Higdon when he first started playing in eight grade. He says, even then he was competing with upperclassmen trying to beat them. “Once you have passion for this sports, there are going to be many things that come along with it,” Higdon said. “I hope my competitive edge will lead me on to higher expectations.” Higdon helped his Eagles capture a state championship in 2014.
