Deputies warn of Carroll Bank texting scam

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — The sheriff’s department is warning people to beware of a texting scam involving Carroll Bank and Trust. The scammers sent mass text messages to individuals all over West Tennessee. The message reads that the “card or account is locked for your security.” It contains a link to a fake Carroll Bank site that requests personal information and then attempts to take funds from the bank accounts. The bank is asking customers and non customers to delete the message and never offer personal information.
