Local woman celebrates 100th birthday
HENDERSON, Tenn. –Seventeen presidents, seven major wars, and hundreds of inventions, this lady has lived to see them all. Gladys “Memphis” Garland and hundreds of her closest family and friends celebrated her 100th birthday Sunday. She said she was born three days after the Titanic sank. And her secret to a long life? “I prayed a lot and read the Bible and you know take time like that. and worked hard,” Garland said.
