Crockett Christmas Store provides bright holiday for local kids
CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — Residents of a local county are doing all they can to ensure that kids living in the area have a wonderful Christmas.
The Crockett Christmas Store is a program designed to help low-income families place gifts under the tree. The program seeks to help more than 700 kids this year.
Parents have to apply several months beforehand to be considered. Once parents apply, they then are given an appointment time to come up to the store. Once there, parents have the opportunity to pick up more than $100 worth of toys for their children.
“Our goal is to help all the children in Crockett County to have a great Christmas, and we really want to focus on the working mothers that have a hard time,” said Tonya Kirkland, Crockett Christmas Store president.
Last Christmas, the Crockett Christmas Store supplied toys to more than 150 children.
