Author dedicates book to residents of Paris, France
CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn.-Inside a West Tennessee classroom Friday, a new holiday, gift and tribute, starts on the pages of a new children’s book.
Copies of “Journey of the Paper Heart” were given out at East Chester Elementary School. Author Alex Beene’s work inside the classroom and writing the book, all started as a tribute to a Paris France, a city that has been through so much over the past month.
“I really appreciate this community, so this book was set in Paris and after the Paris attacks, we wanted to look for a way to share that appreciation with people in our lives and also showing our support for Paris,” said Beene.
Proclaimed by Mayor Dwain Seaton, Friday, December 11 has since been designated as Henderson’s ‘Paper Heart Day’, an occasion where all sales of Beene’s book go back to the people of Paris, France.
