‘Imagination Library’ celebration Saturday
JACKSON, Tenn.-‘Imagination Library’ has been a part of Madison County for 10 years and on Saturday, you can join the celebration.
Casey Jones Village will host the anniversary celebration from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday morning. The free family event includes cookies and story time with Santa.
St. Nick will even pose for pictures as long as you have your own camera.
Staff at the museum said it is proud to celebrate the love of reading.
“If you can teach a child to read, he can learn anything else– math, science, social studies, all that, kind of falls into place once you learn how to read,” said Jimmy Bailey, director of operations with the Casey Jones Museum.
Saturday’s event is free, but donations will be accepted. ‘Imagination Library’ provides a book every month at no charge to any child in Tennessee until they turn 5.
The cost of the program is about $24 per child, per year.
