Single vehicle wreck closes portion of 412

MADISON COUNTY,Tenn.,–The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle wreck on highway 412.

According to officials on the scene, the driver was the only person in the car. First responders said they had to cut through the roof to remove the driver from the vehicle.

The THP said the driver was wearing a seatbelt and is in serious condition.

The driver has been air lifted to a hospital in Memphis, according to the THP.

Investigators said it’s unclear what caused the driver to lose control and drive off the road at this time.

The portion of highway 412, east of Cotton Grove road has been shut down as crews investigate the wreck. Officials said the road should reopen in a few hours.
