Gibson Co. woman accused of shooting man with shotgun

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A woman is behind bars after deputies say she shot a man in the back with a shotgun while he sat on the couch.

Charges are pending against Leashea Brown after she allegedly fired a shotgun at the man twice as he sat on the couch Tuesday evening at a Ginseng Road home in Gibson, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

The man was transported and later released with non-life threatening injuries, according to the department.

When deputies responded, they found Brown asleep in a bedroom while holding a shotgun at her side, according to the release.

Deputies secured the shotgun, and Brown then was taken into custody and taken to the Gibson County Correctional Complex.

Brown is being held in lieu of a $15,000 bond on pending charges of aggravated domestic assault and aggravated reckless endangerment.

She is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Dec. 22.
