Longtime UTM employee retires after 45 years

MARTIN, Tenn. — A retiring worker for a local university was honored Thursday for her 45 years of service to the school.

Wanda Brundige has spent the last four-plus decades working for the University of Tennessee at Martin, most recently as the administrative services assistant for the Jackson center.

Brundige even earned her bachelor’s degree from UTM while she’s been working there.

She says it’s been an honor to work for such a great university for as long as she has, and she had a few words of advice for those getting into the work force today.

“To jump in full force, to be involved in every aspect of your work, and if you see something that needs doing, do that,” Brundige said.

Brundige says she plans to spend her retirement with her kids and grandkids and would like to get some travel in as well.
