TBI searching for leads in deadly armed robbery at Ripley home

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Tenn. — TBI agents and Ripley police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting that left one man dead and two others injured.

The shooting took place around 10:30 p.m. when at least two masked gunmen attempted to rob several people at a home in the 100 block of Watkins Street in Ripley, according to a release from the office of District Attorney General Michael Dunavant.

The home was also used as a barber shop, according to the release.

Clarence Evans, 20, was killed, the release states. The two other victims were taken to a Memphis hospital. Their conditions are not known at this time.
