$12,000 pay raise approved for Arkansas Senate leader’s aide
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – The Arkansas Senate’s Efficiency Committee has approved a $12,000 pay raise for the aide to Senate President Pro Tem Jonathan Dismang.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported (http://bit.ly/1PddIZe ) Saturday that the committee approved raising Andy Goodman’s pay from $76,506 to $88,506. Goodman began working for the Senate earlier this month after working as director of real estate for the state land commissioner.
Dismang has been president pro tem since November 2014 and has said he’s tentatively decided to run for re-election, but will decide closer to the April 13 start of the Legislature’s fiscal session. Dismang said Goodman is a good friend who has a good working relationship with county officials that should help state senators.
Dismang said Goodman will remain his aide as long as he is president pro tem.
