2 men appear on charges in separate Jackson shootings

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson man suspected in an early Friday morning shooting in east Jackson appeared Wednesday in city court.

Darnel Williams now faces counts of facilitation of attempted first-degree murder and robbery.

According to court papers, Williams invited a friend over only to beat him up and rob him. Officers say the victim later called Williams to confront him.

Williams is accused of then driving to the victim’s house and firing up to eight gunshots. No one was injured.

Also in city court was Duntavious Barlow. According to court papers, he helped Williams beat up and rob the victim on Friday. He faces a count of robbery in that case.

Barlow also is charged in the Nov. 22 shooting outside the Goldline gas station on the Highway 45 Bypass. He was charged Wednesday with reckless endangerment in that case.

According to court papers, he shot twice into a crowd of people. Two people were injured in that shooting.
