Crockett Co. officials close schools due to storm damage
CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — Crockett County Schools will be closed Wednesday due to storm damage at Crockett County high school, officials with the school system have confirmed.
According to Lt. Roy Wilson with the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department, about 90 percent of the roof at the field house at Crockett County High School is gone. The roof of the vocational building is also reportedly damaged.
Director of Schools Bobby Mullins said they chose to close all schools because they want to walk through the schools as a precaution to make sure there are no damages that they might miss tonight.
Mullins said they will decide around lunch time Wednesday on when the high school will reopen or where to relocate the students.
