Dyer Co. woman charged with TennCare fraud by ‘doctor shopping’

DYERSBURG, Tenn. — A Dyer County woman is facing three counts of TennCare fraud on accusations of doctor shopping for prescription drugs.

Juanita Cunningham, 47, of Dyersburg is accused of using TennCare benefits to obtain Hydrocodone by doctor shopping for the drug, according to a release from the Office of Inspector General.

“Law enforcement, providers and communities across Tennessee are working hard with us to eradicate drug fraud, especially in the TennCare program,” Inspector General Manny Tyndall states in the release. “This activity is happening in every county in the state, but we are intent on prosecuting every case where we determine there is fraudulent activity.”
