JACKSON, Tenn. — A national organization devoted to helping those in need helped some of the Hub City’s most recent survivors Thursday night.

Red Cross helps with east Jackson apartment fireThe Red Cross brought food, clothing and shelter needs to the families that once lived in east Jackson’s Royal Arms Apartments.

Red Cross members say it keeps up the relief provider’s habit of helping out those shocked by the disasters they face, sometimes with nowhere to turn.

“We want them to feel like we indeed have met their emergency needs when they might not have possibly anywhere else to turn to,” said David Brumley with the Red Cross.

The Red Cross helped more than 25 people who were affected by the late night fire.

Jackson fire officials are still working to find out what started the blaze.
