Jackson hosts state-wide NAACP Advocacy Summit
JACKSON, Tenn. — This weekend, Jackson hosted the NAACP state-wide conference.
There were discussions about race relations, education and criminal justice. At the final dinner Saturday night, the keynote speaker was Dr. K. B. Turner from the University of Memphis Department of Criminology. Dr. Turner discussed changes of the criminal justice system.
“Weather we are victims, we tend to know someone who has been victimized by somebody,” said University of Memphis criminology professor Dr. K.B. Turner. “Sometimes we find ourselves unfortunately in the system of justice. So it makes sense that we know how it operates.”
