4th Annual Purple Way 5K braves storms
JACKSON, Tenn.—The fourth annual Purple Way 5K braved the weather this morning all in support of epilepsy awareness.
Around 50 runners, and one dog, didn’t let the thunderstorms scare them away for this good cause.
All proceeds from the event go to the Danny Did Foundation to help other families with costs associated with epilepsy.
“Not many people know about epilepsy or what it is when I see people supporting this it just makes me feel good inside,” Nick Bezold said. He has been helped by the foundation for his epilepsy.
Experts say around one in every 26 people struggle with some form of epilepsy.
