Gamma Psi celebrates Founder’s Day
JACKSON, Tenn.—A local chapter of a national educators sorority celebrated their founders Sunday while awarding five students college scholarships.
The national sorority of Phi Delta Kappa’s local chapter Gamma Psi held their founder’s day celebration at New Hope Baptist Church in Jackson.
Around 40 educators across West Tennessee are a part of the sorority raising money throughout the year for scholarships.
“Each year we celebrate our founders and so today is a celebration of them we also have an educator of the year we give about $2,500 in scholarships today to several deserving students,” Gamma Psi Chapter President Rosalyn Wilson said.
They recognized Marlon King, the superintendent of Fayette County Schools, as educator of the year.
