JFD responds to east Jackson structure fire

EAST JACKSON — An east Jackson home caught fire Sunday night in a mobile home park off of Whitehall Street.

fireThe Jackson Fire Department says the call came around 9:45 p.m. The fire occurred in the 1200 block of Whitehall Street at a manufactured home in Parkway Village.

The Jackson Fire Department was able to get the flames out quickly, according to officials. No injuries were reported.

Capt. David Thompson says the woman who lives in the home was in the trailer when the back porch caught on fire.

According to the early investigation, they believe the fire was accidental and possibly due to electrical problems. Officials say the home sustained smoke and water damage to the back wall.

They will be sending an investigator out to confirm the cause of the fire.
