Chattanooga man due in court in death of pregnant woman’s child
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) – A 24-year-old Chattanooga man charged with killing an unborn child has a court hearing later this month. Chattanooga Police say he beat the child’s mother, a 15-year-old pregnant girl.
Chattanooga Police say Justin Armour attacked the girl in May 2015 in a vacant house. The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports (http://bit.ly/1TdzK1v) she gave birth to the couple’s stillborn baby the next day.
The girl, who was not identified because she is a minor, was five months pregnant.
Police say Armour locked the girl in a bedroom and beat her repeatedly throughout the day and into the night.
Armour was indicted in February on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault. He is due in court for a hearing on May 25. He is being held in the Hamilton County Jail on a $750,000 bond.
