Lane College reveals how it will use “Retool Your School” grant
JACKSON, Tenn.-Just days after winning the big price in Home Depot’s “Retool Your School” Campus Improvement Grant Program, Lane College revealed how it is going to use that money.
Lane won the largest grant amount possible, $50,000. School officials plan to use to revamp the college’s entrance and use for other general beautification projects around the campus.
“It makes us feel absolutely pleased, gratified, and just a heart-warming feeling to have this overall commitment and support by so many people,” said Darlette Carver Samuels, chief of staff at Lane College.
School officials said more than 1 million votes were cast for Lane during a two month social media campaign.
The projects are set to begin this summer.
