Cantrell Steps In At Westview

JACKSON, Tenn — After Don Coady resigned from the Westview football program, the team was in search for a new ball coach for two months.

The school announced their new man this past week and they didn’t have to go far. Trey Cantrell who was under Coady the past 13 seasons will take the coaches former position.

He said he know’s the school will be missing a good man come Friday nights, but he learned a lot while he could from Coady.

“Well you learned number one how to handle kids, and handle kids the professional right way,” said Cantrell. “But you learn how to be a professional, you always put a good product on the field. If it’s a winning product, the thing about the winning product is done the right way. Sportsmanship, execution, effort, everything.”

Cantrell said he is ready to get the job started, first he will put together his coaching staff.
