Jackson memorial Carillon celebrates 61 years of music
JACKSON, Tenn.—Church bells rang throughout North Jackson Sunday afternoon in a unique concert.
First Presbyterian Church in Jackson hosted a Carillon Concert on their lawn.
Built for some of our nation’s finest, the Jackson memorial Carillon is celebrating 61 years of music.
“Clarence Pickford who was the publisher of the Jackson Sun, and he was also a lawyer, raised the money to build the carillon and dedicated it to the men and women who let their lives in World War one and two,” carillonneur Kathleen Huneycutt said.
Two people played for the audience that sat below, musical selections included the Moonlight Serenade and the Washington Post March.
