Woman sentenced to 26 years in prison for fatal crash
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A woman has been sentenced to 26 years in prison for causing a crash in Tennessee that killed two men soon after she pleaded guilty to a drunken-driving charge in another case.
The Tennessean reports 30-year-old Stephanie Ferguson will have to serve just under eight years before she can be considered for release.
She pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide. She was sentenced Friday.
Police said a syringe of cocaine was found at the scene and Ferguson had cocaine metabolites in her blood after the January 2015 crash.
The victims were 66-year-old Aaron Hall and 64-year-old Willie Nichols.
The fatal crash happened about 11:15 a.m. Not more than two hours before, Ferguson was pleading guilty to her second driving under the influence charge.
