3 more Kentucky counties certified as work ready
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – Three more Kentucky communities have been certified as work ready.
Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet Secretary Hal Heiner said in a statement that Bullitt, Montgomery and Trigg counties have been added to the official list of Kentucky Work Ready Communities.
The certification means workers in those communities have the necessary skills to staff existing jobs and the ability to master technologies required by new jobs.
Heiner says there are now a total of 29 work ready counties and another 39 are working toward the certification.
He says the designation gives counties “a competitive edge” when they are trying to attract business and industry.
