Police: Woman who shot herself after officers responded has died
JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman who reportedly shot herself after pulling a gun on police has died from her injuries, according to a police department spokesperson.
The incident happened May 13 in north Jackson near the Highway 45 Bypass and Oil Well Road. The woman’s name has not been released.
Investigators say police stopped the woman on Frontage Road after Medina officials had issued an alert that she could be suicidal.
The woman reportedly yelled at the officers to shoot her before turning the gun on herself.
The investigation is ongoing.
