TBI releases new info in officer-involved shooting death of Milan man

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has released new information in an officer-involved shooting in December that left a man dead in Milan.

The district attorney general has ruled the fatal shooting Dec. 13 of Michael Thomason, 56, was justified.

In a release, the D.A. said when Gibson County deputies and Milan police went to his home to question Thomason about a homicide, he pointed a pistol at the officers, who returned fire, striking him multiple times.

The TBI investigated the shooting and turned its evidence over to the D.A.
