Police: Women arrested after child found in car with drunken driver
JACKSON, Tenn. — A mother is charged with child endangerment after police say she was riding with her child in a car with an intoxicated driver.
Alexandria Holmes is accused of being too intoxicated to care for herself and her 3-year-old child after the two were found riding in a car with a drunken driver, according to court documents.
Police say they talked to Holmes around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday as she was the passenger in a car that was stopped in the street in the 600 block of North Highland Avenue.
Her speech was mumbled and difficult to understand, and police say the child was sitting in a car seat but was not restrained and that the car seat was not attached to the vehicle, according to an affidavit.
The driver, Channell Foster, told police Holmes had been drinking and that she was giving them a ride home.
Foster was arrested for DUI and Holmes was arrested for child endangerment, according to police.
Both women face multiple charges in the incident.
