McEwen clinic owner arrested on drug charges

McEWEN, Tenn. (AP) – Investigators say the owner of a McEwen medical clinic has been arrested after being accused of prescription drug fraud.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says Juelda Coleman, a nurse practitioner who owns the Coleman Family Care Clinic, has been charged with three counts of unlawfully dispensing a controlled substance, another charge related to the illegal sale of a prescription drug, and one count of identity theft.

No one answered the phone at Coleman’s clinic. The TBI said she was arrested Wednesday and would be held in the Humphreys County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Officials say the TBI, the state Health Department and the McEwen Police Department investigated the case at the request of District Attorney Ray Crouch.
