LEXINGTON, Tenn — The Scotts Hill Lions did something no one believed they would do at the beginning of the season. They brought their school its first ever state title in any sport. The team defeated Knoxville Grace 8-3 to win the Class A state title.

scotts hill 3Head coach, Carl Harken said people used to talk about his ball club, but they never got down on themselves.

“We never count ourselves out and we went in with something to prove because we were a team a lot of people talked about,” said Harken.  “Finished fourth in our district and so we were kind of counted out and so they boys took the attitude they had something to prove and they took that momentum with them until the very end.”

The team celebrated at Beach Lake Friday night at the Relay For Life event with the community, friends and family.
