Pedestrian killed on Interstate 64 in Fayette County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) – The Fayette County coroner’s office says a pedestrian on Interstate 64 has died after being hit by multiple vehicles.

WKYT-TV reports the coroner’s office said four different vehicles, including a box truck, are thought to have hit the man just before 5 a.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes near the Clark County line.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner’s office said one of the drivers that hit the man was a pregnant woman, and she was taken to a hospital to be examined.

The crash shut down all eastbound lanes for nearly two hours.

The man’s name hasn’t been released, and authorities don’t know why he was on the interstate.
