Police: Man arrested in beating death at McComb sports bar
MCCOMB, Miss. (AP) – An arrest has been made in the beating death of a man at a McComb sports bar.
Media outlets report McComb police say 35-year-old Russell E. Creason of Forest was arrested Wednesday and charged with manslaughter in the death of 25-year-old Shaun Wallace.
Police say Wallace was found unresponsive Monday night after being beaten following a fight at Upper Deck Sports Bar.
Witnesses told police that an argument between several people led to the fight, which was broken up by employees and patrons.
Detective Sim Boyte says in a statement that once the altercation was contained, Wallace was struck by a suspect, who then fled the scene.
Police say other people were treated for injuries sustained during the fight.
It’s unclear whether Creason has an attorney.
