Storms cause power outages in Crockett, Obion counties

UPDATE #2 — Gibson Electric Membership Corporation reports that crews have restored power to all customers as of just after 5 p.m.

UPDATE #1 — Gibson Electric Membership Corporation reports around 4:30 p.m. that power has been restored to most of the affected customers. Crews are reportedly working to restore power to the remaining customers between Obion and Trimble and north of Hornbeak.

CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — Friday afternoon storms have reportedly caused power outages in Crockett and Obion counties.

Power outages graphicThe outages affect 989 Gibson Electric Membership Corporation customers’ homes and businesses, according to a release from the utility.

The outage in Crockett County started at 2:51 p.m. and is affecting 572 members east of Friendship and Maury City and north of Alamo, according to the release.

The outage in Obion County started just after 3 p.m. and is affecting 417 members between Obion and Troy.

Crews were immediately dispatched and will restore service as quickly as they safely can, according to the release.
