JMC Crime Stoppers tees-up fundraiser with annual golf tournament

JACKSON, Tenn.-Crime Stoppers held its 22nd annual Jackson-Madison County golf tournament, Monday.

With a noon tee-time, golfers were treated to sunny skies and dry conditions as they raised money for the non-profit aimed at bringing in community tips about crime.

This year, organizers are expecting to bring in $22,000. Golfers told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News they enjoy coming out to support a great cause.

“I have been involved with the event for the last three or four years and it just benefits the community and everybody that wants to put people who do crimes behind the jail, in the jail,” said Scottie Mitchell, a golf tourney participant.

The event continues through Monday night with an auction, more prizes and food catered by Backyard Barbecue.
